The Tesla Model 2, unveil the later this year.

Today, I will update the Tesla Model 2 news I posted last month.

The Model 2, which is currently being developed by Tesla China, 

attracted attention when Elon Musk mentioned the development plan 

of the electric vehicle Model 2 with a new battery smaller than the Model 3 

at the completion ceremony of the Shanghai Giga Factory.

This time, Tesla China CEO Tom Zhu has announced 

that the compact model will be designed, developed 

and built at a new R&D center now located at Shanghai's Gigafactory.

Competitors are expected to include Volkswagen's ID.3, 

Hyundai's Ioniq 5 and Honda E, and Model 2 is expected to be equipped 

with a 55kWh lithium-ion battery.

The mileage is expected to be about 322 km, 

so even though it is a low-cost version, there seems to be enough merit.

If autonomous driving technology 

such as autopilot applied to the existing model S3XY 

and other software functions can all be used, 

potential customers who wish to purchase an electric vehicle 

will make the purchase decision easily.

The global release is yet to be determined, 

but after the launch in the Chinese market, 

the global market is expected to expand.

As I mentioned in the previous post,

many experts expect that the low price of $2,500 will overwhelm the electric vehicle market,

so I'm more curious about the performance of the Model 2.
