Hello there.
Today's post is a beginner's guide to infant vaccinations.
Keeping track of every shot on the schedule can feel overwhelming for new parents — are you on top of your baby's vaccination timeline? Let's break down the basics together.
National immunization programs exist to protect infants and children from serious infectious diseases. In many countries, the schedule runs from birth all the way through age 12, spread across multiple visits.
Missing a scheduled dose can reduce how well immunity builds up, so it helps to know the general timeline in advance and plan around it.

DTaP, which protects against diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis, starts with a primary series at 2, 4, and 6 months, followed by booster doses at 15-18 months, ages 4-6, and ages 11-12 (often given as Tdap or Td).
Beyond these, a typical schedule also includes polio (IPV), Hib, pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV), rotavirus, MMR (measles-mumps-rubella), varicella, and others depending on the country. Since every baby's health situation is different, always confirm the exact timing and sequence with your pediatrician.
On the day of vaccination, check that your baby is feeling well beforehand, and plan to stay at the clinic for about 20-30 minutes afterward to watch for any adverse reactions.
Summary
An infant's vaccination schedule can look complicated at first, but breaking it down step by step — with help from your pediatrician or your country's official immunization guidance — makes it much more manageable.
